ONE LINE

Grow a living factory. Consume the world.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

Something fell into Iowa farmland. You are its queen. Grow a factory out of living flesh, from a few chitin plates a
minute to thousands, while the county takes up arms to burn you out.

ABOUT THE GAME

It fell into Iowa farmland on a Tuesday. By autumn it had a name.

Brood Factory is a factory-building game in which the factory is alive. You are the queen, the hive's body: you walk
the creep, mine and carry by hand, and grow organs within your reach. Extractors chew the ground. Cilia ripple ore
from organ to organ. Digesters render it into chitin, morph pools grow it into parts, hearts and lungs beat out
vitality, and evolution pits unlock what the hive becomes next. Every organ is grown from what the hive makes, so
growth snowballs into a sprawling, glowing base.

Great worms haul freight through living veins under signals and schedules. Carriers fly goods across the hive. A
nerve network of neurons and glowcaps lets it think.

The hive's spores drift over the county, and the county answers. Farmers take up rifles, the police throw up
roadblocks, and checkpoints and firebases wall the hive in, until the National Guard rolls in with tanks and
helicopters. Hatch skitters, spitters, bulwarks, needlers, bombards, gargoyles and behemoths from brood nests, and
lead them yourself with an arm that grows into a needler, an acid sprayer and a bombard.

End it by birthing the Leviathan, or stay and blot out the sun.

FEATURES

- A living factory: creep, extractors, cilia, feeders, digesters, morph pools, hearts and evolution pits.
- Two-lane cilia that bend into slopes, sweeps and rings, with burrows, forks, splices and lane twists.
- Great worms on veins of their own, with knots, stations, schedules and interrupts.
- Fluids, steam, sun membranes, and black hearts that breed plutonium.
- Carriers, logistic sacs, drift nexuses, blueprints, and a nerve network to wire it all.
- A county that fights back: farmers, police, roadblocks, walls, and the National Guard.
- Eight warrior strains, brood nests, and a queen who fights at their head.
- An endgame that terraforms the planet as sun-eaters and spores darken the sky.
